India is set for a gaming revolution with homegrown titles rooted in the storytelling traditions of yore. There are a billion stories brewing in the subcontinent that need a canvas of expression and none are as immersive as a game that takes you back several millennia. The Age of Bhaarat, from Tara Gaming, seeks to pioneer as a blockbuster AAA game brewed in India by Indian storytellers and artists.
The startup Indian studio is co-founded by the doyen of Bollywood, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, who brings his inimitable baritone voice to the project. The fantasy action RPG game is helmed by co-founder and storyteller-in-chief Amish Tripathi, the best-selling author of the Shiva Trilogy and Ram Chandra series. The Age of Bhaarat also ropes in Nouredine Abboud, gaming veteran and Producer of Ghost Recon.
The game is set in an epoch when necromancers, dark sorcerers, and rakshasas were not myths and bedtime stories but dwelled among the dwindling race of men in jungles that were older than civilization itself.
Stepping out meant certain death by the demons and their acolytes or falling prey to other creatures of the dark.
The protagonist, a Forest Warden, is a guardian of Anandpur who wields traditional Indian weapons to strike, slash, and slam the invading forces of darkness. Make no mistake, the empire of the Rakshasas is no ordinary foe. The Forest Warden cruises through the game via a grappling hook system that integrates vertical combat reminiscent of a certain web-wielding superhero.
Besides the single-player combat, the gameplay allows you to team up with allies in a co-op mode and quest through treacherous terrains and picturesque landscapes resembling epics like the Ramayana.

Amitabh Bachchan states
“Joining Tara Gaming is an extension of my lifelong commitment to storytelling. When I heard Amish and Nouredine’s vision, I was instantly drawn to the potential of creating something truly monumental.
India has always been a land of powerful stories, and through this game, we have an opportunity to share our epics, creativity, and imagination with the world. Gaming is where stories come alive for the next generation, and I’m excited to help shape that experience at Tara Gaming with a uniquely Indian lens.”
