OnePlus is reportedly set to phase out its iconic alert slider, a defining feature of its smartphones, starting with the upcoming OnePlus 13T. Confirmed by CEO Pete Lau, the move signals a shift toward new functionality, with the 13T expected to debut an iPhone-like Action Button, possibly named “Quick Key.”
According to a company executive on Weibo, this new button will offer customizable actions, including toggling between sound profiles, giving users more flexibility. While it marks the end of an era for long-time OnePlus fans, the brand appears ready to embrace a more modern and versatile approach.

OnePlus seems to be following Apple’s design lead with the introduction of a new “Quick Key” on the upcoming OnePlus 13T, replacing the brand’s signature Alert Slider. Positioned on the left side of the device, this button mirrors Apple’s shift from the Ring/Silent switch to the multifunctional Action Button. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis recently teased the feature, calling it a major upgrade that offers more versatility and customization options, signaling a bold hardware evolution for the company.

The new Quick Key on the OnePlus 13T retains the classic functionality of toggling between silent, vibrate, and ring modes, but adds a customizable feature that allows users to quickly access or switch between preset actions. OnePlus President Louis called this addition “very practical” and teased an “interesting feature” embedded within the button, suggesting enhanced utility beyond basic sound profile control.

The upcoming OnePlus 13T, dubbed the brand’s next “mini flagship,” has appeared on benchmarking platform AnTuTu ahead of its official launch later this month. Bearing the model number PKX110, the device is expected to feature Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and run on Android 15.
Key specs from the listing include a 120Hz refresh rate display, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, with more variants likely to be offered. Additionally, a OnePlus employee has hinted at a sizable 6,000mAh battery, which, if confirmed, would give the compact handset a strong edge in battery life.
On the design front, leaked renders suggest that the OnePlus 13T might draw inspiration from Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16, particularly in terms of rear aesthetics, though OnePlus is expected to maintain its distinct design language.
The smartphone will likely feature a dual-camera setup, but there’s still uncertainty about whether it will sport a vertical or horizontal pill-shaped module. For display, it’s rumored to include a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate – slightly smaller than the OnePlus 13’s 6.82-inch panel – offering a balance between premium visuals and a compact form factor.
