Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, alongside its latest foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The Galaxy Watch 8 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Classic version is offered in a 46mm variant. Both smartwatches feature a new “squircle” design, are powered by the new Exynos W1000 chipset, and run One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6.

In India, the Galaxy Watch 8 starts at ₹32,999 for the 40mm Bluetooth model and ₹35,999 for the 44mm, while the LTE versions are priced at ₹36,999 and ₹39,999, respectively. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is priced at ₹46,999 for the Bluetooth variant and ₹50,999 for the LTE model. Pre-orders are now open, with general availability set for 25 July. Color options include Graphite and Silver for the Watch 8, and Black and White for the Classic.

The Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic both feature Super AMOLED displays with a sharp 327ppi pixel density and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The 40mm and 46mm variants come with 1.34-inch screens at 438×438 resolution, while the 44mm model boasts a larger 1.47-inch display with 480×480 resolution for enhanced clarity.

In terms of build, the Galaxy Watch 8 has an aluminium case with Sapphire glass, while the Watch 8 Classic features a premium stainless steel frame and a rotating bezel. The Classic also includes a Quick Button for shortcuts, and offers 64GB storage and 2GB RAM—double the internal storage of the standard Watch 8, which comes with 32GB. Battery capacity ranges from 325mAh in the 40mm model to 445mAh in the Classic.
Health and fitness tracking remain central, with sensors for heart rate, ECG, blood pressure, stress, sleep, and body composition. A new AGES Index has been introduced, and features like fall detection return. All models are MIL-STD-810H certified for toughness, rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, and the Classic includes a 3D Hall sensor for improved motion detection.
