With artificial intelligence sneaking into almost every domain of work, stealing jobs, the most affected are the artists, software engineers, and writers! But who gives a damn about them when the only thing that matters is cost-cutting measures and revenue for agencies, studios, and media houses? Now a newspaper has gone ahead with an experiment that will alarm fellow writers and journalists. Il Foglio, the Italian daily, has published a newspaper edition that has been entirely generated by the AI.
The idea behind the project is to document the effect of AI in the lives of journalists. The conservative daily will publish AI-generated news for a month. The first of the four-page broadsheet editions hit the newsstands and people have been reporting picking up the same on social media.
On its front page, the Italian newspaper has carried a feature on Donald Trump and Putin. The second page contains an article on situationship. The last page of the newspaper has letters from the readers to the editor, which have been generated by AI. One of the letters states that AI will finally take over, rendering humans useless in the near future.
Would you trust a newspaper with AI reporters and editors?
